Happy Mother’s Day from Medicare Made Clear!Posted by Medicare Made Clear
In celebration of mothers everywhere, we at Medicare Made Clear wish you and yours a very Happy Mother’s Day.
One great way to celebrate Mother’s Day is to take care of your health, and help your mother take care of hers. That’s why the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health created National Women’s Health Week. National Women’s Health Week kicks off each year on Mother’s Day, and runs May 12 – 18 in 2013. Communities, businesses, public health organizations and other groups come together to support women in making their health a top priority.
In honor of Mother’s Day and National Women’s Health Week, here are some ways you can take care of you—or encourage your mom to take care of herself:
- Call your doctor to schedule a preventive visit and recommended screenings.
- Get active and eat healthfully.
- Take care of your mental health.
- If you smoke, quit.
- Be safe: always wear your seatbelt in a car and your helmet when riding a bike. And never text while driving.
