Video: Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans (Medigap)

Posted by Medicare Made Clear

Medigap plans, also known as Medicare supplement insurance plans, are designed to help pay some of the hospital and medical costs not paid by Original Medicare, Parts A & B.

Depending on the plan chosen, Medigap plans help cover some or all of the out-of-pocket costs that you pay with Parts A and B, like deductibles, copays and coinsurance. Medigap plans also let you choose your doctor or provider that accepts Medicare patients, and your benefits go with you if you  travel within the U.S. They don’t cover things like vision, hearing, dental, or long term care. And they don’t cover prescription drugs.
